Sunday, September 6th

Happy pre-conference Sunday! We hope you're ready for an amazing week of workshops, talks, and connections!

🚡 Schauinsland Cable Car Tour at 12:00

Come with us to discover the life at 1,284 meters above sea level with the Schauinsland Cable Car. With the longest loop cable car in Germany, you'll reach the peak of Freiburg and its stunning panorama in 20 minutes.

We'll be meeting in front of the venue and go from there. The entrance fee of €15 is not included in your conference ticket — bring some small change, so we can get a group ticket together.

Monday, September 7th

Today is our first workshop day! Get ready to dive deep into new ideas and techniques.

On Monday, we'll be running three fantastic workshops.

UX Leadership and Influence with Joe Natoli
Designing For Complex UIs, 2026 Edition with Vitaly Friedman

Our doors open at 9:00 for a 9:30 start, lunch will be provided, too. Look for the volunteers at Historisches Kaufhaus.

🎤 Jam Session (19:00 - 22:00)

The night before the conference kicks off, we're hosting a warm-up event at Humboldtsaal.

We hope you'll join us to connect ahead of the main event! We hope to see you listen to a few talks, and have some friendly chats! Would you like to give a lightning talk? Let us know!

Tuesday, September 8th

Today is our first conference day! Get ready for amazing talks and networking.

🏃‍♀️ Morning Run (7:00 - 7:40)

Join speakers and attendees for a 5k run! We'll meet in front of the conference venue at 7:00 and run about 5k, taking in the scenery of Freiburg! We'll be running for approximately 30–40 minutes.

🧘 A Morning Mindful Moment (8:00 - 8:30)

Start your conference day with some gentle indoor yoga, stretching, and guided mindfulness. This beginner-friendly, 30-minute practice will be led by Ari.

We'll meet in front of the Historisches Kaufhaus. No equipment necessary!

🎆 First Conference Day

Our doors open at 8:30! Kicking off the conference at 9:40 AM with our welcome! Snacks, coffee and drinks are provided throughout the day.

Lunch

🌭 Go for a nice stroll on the Münstermarkt, their stands offer amazing things for lunch. There are also wonderful options not too far from the venue, we've listed our favorites on a map.

🍻 Brewery Tour, Dinner & After Party (18:30)

This evening, join us for a Brewery Tour at GANTER Brewery from 18:30–19:15, followed by dinner from 18:30–20:00 at Wodan Halle, right next door. Both the Brewery Tour and Dinner require registration.

Time to party it up! From 19:30 onwards, join us for our legendary After Party, also at Wodan Halle — no registration needed, just bring your badge.

These evening events are only for Smashing attendees, please don't forget to bring your badge.

Wednesday, September 9th

Welcome back for another day filled with inspiration and takeaways!

🏃‍♂️ Morning Run (7:30 - 8:20)

Join speakers and attendees for another 5k run! On both conference days we'll meet in front of the Historisches Kaufhaus at 7:30 and run 5k taking in the scenery of Freiburg!

🧘 A Morning Mindful Moment (8:45 - 9:15)

Our doors open at 9:15 AM, we'll have a warm welcome back at 9:45 AM, and kick off at 10:00 AM with our Mystery Speaker! Snacks, coffee and drinks are provided throughout the day. Are you ready?

You can also join our Interledger Lunch Session! Join Max Kurapov from the Interledger Foundation, who will be hosting a session on Evolving Web Monetization. Only 25 spots available!

👻 Walking Tour (18:30)

If you don't want your SmashingConf to end yet, join us for a Witch of Freiburg walking tour! We'll be exploring the neighborhood and hopefully don't get eaten by ghosts.

Thursday, September 10th

Our final day! Time to round off your conference experience with more hands-on learning.
