Lyra Rebane
Lyra Rebane is a security researcher and CSS enthusiast who builds things most people think are impossible. From CSS-only x86 emulators to interactive "CSS crimes," her work explores the limits of the web platform, infosec, and the art of minimal code.
Based in Estonia, she’s a firm believer that the best way to understand a system is to push it until it breaks—and then build something beautiful with the pieces.

Sometimes we forget that we can have fun with the web, CSS is here to remind us. It's full of forgotten corners and lesser-known features that most of us walk right past.
In this talk, Lyra pulls a handful out — the fun, obscure things she's found over years of clicking around MDN. Think @media (hover: hover) to target devices that can actually hover, media queries for folding devices, and how to properly escape characters. You can expect a lot of "wait, CSS can do that?" moments, and a few techniques worth stealing along the way.
