Schedule
😻 Get ready for a few hours of fun, inspiration, and practical learning! We’re hosting three amazing speakers who know about AI, how we can make it work for us, and what we can expect coming to our design and development tools shortly!
We have three talks each lasting about 40 minutes, followed by a short Q&A, have a short break in between talk two and three, and finish with an interactive panel.
Register your free ticket and spread the love! We open our virtual doors 15 minutes before we start on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 8 AM PT 🌍 and we’ll finish around 3 hours later!
☃️ 8 AM — Vancouver (CAN)
⚽️ 12 PM — Montevideo (URU)
🎣 5 PM — Stockholm (SW)
⚒️ 8 PM — Tblisi (GE)
We love it when our speakers do live things: they show how they work — their setup, techniques and shortcuts for getting work done in live interactive sessions. So you can learn from their techniques (and mistakes).

Welcome!
For our upcoming Smashing Meets AI 2025, our friendly host Geoff will welcome you and quickly explain how the event will run. We can’t wait to meet you!
UX Patterns for AI-First Software
When AI becomes your co-pilot, UI alone isn’t enough—you’re also designing the conversation, the context, and the underlying behavior of the model itself. Whether you’re shipping an AI product or adding AI to an existing one, you need to bridge the gap between human needs and model behavior.
In this talk, Vitaly will explore how core levers like temperature, scoping, and prompt presets shape user experience just as much as layout or flow. You’ll learn how concepts like token nudging, daemons, and the Assistant Pattern can be used intentionally to build AI features that feel intuitive, responsive, and aligned with user intent.
No BS AI for Humans
AI is fun to say, but is it BS? Join Scott Hanselman as he explores "LMs both VL and S" (very large and small) and learns if they are useful or not? What about NPUs on your phone or laptop? What can a small model do that can save power and money? How many TOPS (tensor operations) are needed for a model to add value in your life and be worth your time?
In this talk, Scott will dive into how he uses AI in his day to day to be more productive, without turning into an AI Grifter!
Break
Time for a quick break to stretch those legs, give your brain a rest and get that coffee.

Panel Discussion
Let's take a little time to discuss all that we have heard, together. Bring your questions, and let's get the discussion going!
Goodbye!
What? The End? Ownoos. But hopefully you have learned something in the process. And luckily there are always the videos, the slides, the collaborative docs, and more. We’ll send them your way shortly. Thank you for joining us & see you again soon! ⛱
