Each designer will tackle a few practical challenges, and show off their specific way of working, toolset and creativity. You can learn from them, and get inspired to try new things and tools yourself.

For our upcoming Smashing Live Design Challenge, our friendly hosts Vitaly & Jarijn will welcome you and quickly explain how the event will run. We won't tell you the challenges yet, but because every designer has their own preferred process, tools, solutions and way of thinking, we can not wait to see how they will tackle the request, and we can’t wait to meet you!
Figma First Design
Christine Vallaure is not only a very experienced web designer, but has been teaching the ins and outs of our favorite design tool Figma for quite a few years as well.
In this challenge, Christine will not only show her structured & developer-friendly process, but because she was one of the first to see how Figma has integrated new AI functionality into their tool, we are quite certain she will get the most out of the tools new functionalities!
Type First Design
Who doesn't love good type on a great website? Unfortunately type is often an afterthought in many design projects. Enter Oliver Schöndorfer, designer and type expert.
We are very curious to see Oliver designing live, talking about his favorite (and not-so-favorite) typefaces, and coming up with innovative solutions for everyday problems!

Time for a quick break to stretch those legs, give your brain a rest and get that coffee.
Illustration First Design
Pablo Stanley (and his alter ego Pablito Planeta 🪐) is known for his amazing and creative design work, which is often illustration-led.
In this challenge, we'll try to push Pablo to not only show his process and solutions, but also ask him to describe his thought process, so we can all be inspired!
Panel Discussion
Let's take a little time to compare and discuss the differences. What methods and tools work best in what situations? What solutions surprised you? Ask your questions and get some extra insights!
