Whose problem needs solving now? This question has driven David Wieland through his daily design operations. Paired with relentless curiosity and a dollop of critical thinking, he strives to unlock the best user experience out of stakeholders and their projects.
For about eight years, David was design lead and managing partner at Grayscale Hong Kong and has coordinated the design and launch of over 40 successful digital projects, for Mercedes, Hong Kong University, Cathay Pacific and the ethical moneylending company Good Financial.
Since early 2020, David settled with his family in Amsterdam and is Design Team Lead of ABN AMRO's Design System team.

Design systems are an unmissable asset in aligning products, improve workflows, keep code consistent, and have many other benefits. But managing the design system so it actually provides all these benefits becomes stupidly difficult the larger your organization is. And at over 10,000 employees with hundreds of digital touchpoints, crushingly demotivating.
