Want to learn cool and useful new things about front-end and design? Our friendly, knowledgeable and approachable speakers will help and inspire you. You’ll also have time to meet them in-person and ask all your questions!

Our speakers and workshop teachers are the best in their fields, and they love to share what they know, how they work and what drives them. On top of that, they are all smashingly nice, and really want to help!

Our speakers don't just show slides: they show how they work — their setup, workflows and techniques for getting work done — in interactive sessions.

  • Sarah Drasner

    Senior Director of Engineering at Google

    Sarah Drasner is Senior Director of Engineering, Core Web, iOS, and Android Infrastructure at Google, powering all of Google's applications like Search, YouTube, Workspace, and more. Sarah is formerly VP at Netlify, Vue core team emeritus, a Frontend Master instructor, and an O'Reilly author.

  • Nate Baldwin

    Senior Staff Designer at Adobe

    Nate is a designer driven by a passion for elevating enterprise-level design quality through systems and processes. His deep curiosity about visual perception and science fuels his work in creating flexible, adaptive, and accessible design systems.

    Nate has worked on design systems for over 10 years, with a specialty in generative and accessible color. Originally starting his journey in Fine Art, Nate discovered a passion for UX design and now brings his expertise to Adobe's Spectrum as a Senior Staff Designer. He’s the creator of free online tools and resources for design such as ColorAndContrast.com, LeonardoColor.io, and Proportio.app.

  • Miriam Suzanne

    Front-End Developer & Co-Founder at OddBird

    Miriam is an artist, engineer, and open-web advocate. She’s a co-founder of OddBird, Invited Expert on the W3C CSS Working Group, and Sass core contributor who enjoys pushing the boundaries of web technology.

    Miriam co-wrote the CSS specifications for Container Queries, Cascade Layers, and Scope. These days she's developing an in-depth CSS training course, editing even more specifications, and fighting for an open web that respects people over profit.

  • Nick Desbarats

    Independent Educator and Best-selling Author

    As an independent educator and best-selling author, Nick Desbarats has taught data visualization and information dashboard design to thousands of professionals in over a dozen countries at organizations such as NASA, Bloomberg, Visa, The United Nations, Shopify, The Internal Revenue Service, and The Central Bank of Tanzania.

    Nick is the author of the Amazon #1 New Release “Practical Charts” (2023) and the upcoming “Practical Dashboards” (2025) books, and he regularly contributes articles to The Journal of the Data Visualization Society (Nightingale) that are among that publication’s most widely read and shared.

  • Vitaly Friedman

    Creative Lead and Co-Founder of Smashing Magazine

    Vitaly Friedman loves beautiful content and doesn’t like to give in easily. When he is not writing or speaking at a conference, he’s most probably running front-end/UX workshops and webinars. He loves solving complex UX, front-end and performance problems.

  • Mystery Speaker
