Testing for accessibility doesn’t have to be overwhelming. The most efficient way is to “shift left” by incorporating testing into the earliest stages of your design and development process.
This free 2-day workshop will take the form of a miniature sprint. We will walk you through the process of analyzing a wireframe from an accessibility perspective, testing a dynamic application and all of its states, and reventing accessibility regressions.
You’ll grow your accessibility problem-solving skills and gain practical experience integrating accessibility into your daily work.

Here’s What You Should Be Expecting:

  • Interactive live sessions

    2 × 2.5h live sessions

  • Practical insights

From analyzing and annotating to testing and implementing

  • Hands-on exercises

    With reviews by your teachers

  • Life-time access

To all video recordings and examples

  • Dedicated Q&A time

    To ask all your questions

  • Smashing Certificate

A well-deserved reward for your work

What will attendees learn in this workshop?

  • Learn how to analyze and annotate UI mockups for accessibility
  • Turn UI mockups into testable accessibility requirements
  • Learn how to approach implementing accessible web components and the challenges you may face
  • Test your components and fix accessibility issues found
  • Manage accessibility systematically

Who is this workshop for?

If you’re a front-end designer and/or developer seeking accessibility problem-solving skills and hoping to gain practical experience that you can apply to your daily work, this workshop is for you.

Attendees should be familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and have a basic understanding of what accessibility is. The principles we will cover are universal but the coding examples will be in React, so familiarity with React would be advantageous.

What hardware/software do you need?

A laptop with an up-to-date copy of Chrome and your favorite text editor.
