“Headless” has become a buzzword recently - but what does that even mean? Together, we’ll unpack the world of headless content management systems and how they result in truly joyful developer experience. On top of that, we’ll explore your favorite shiny frontend framework.

Specifically, we’ll show you how to integrate Storyblok with Astro, Remix and SvelteKit — enabling you to efficiently work in a team, create and maintain content and provide omnichannel experiences for a wide audience.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build a compelling website using your favorite framework: Set up your own project connecting Storyblok with Astro, Remix or SvelteKit
  • Headless from the ground up. Learn what the hype is about and how you can make the most of the composable approach.
  • Excel at building with Storyblok. Get to know one of the market leaders in the headless CMS universe and learn valuable skills for real-life projects, like creating your own custom components, managing internationalization with ease, or optimizing performance.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for anyone curious to learn about the headless approach, playing with (new-ish) frameworks and creating amazing omnichannel experiences. We recommend having a basic knowledge of HTML and JS.

What hardware/software do you need?

Prerequisite(s): Node.js LTS installed, IDE of choice Recommended Knowledge: Brief familiarity with frontend technologies (not necessarily Astro, Remix or SvelteKit)

Josefine is passionate about all things web accessibility, inclusive developer communities and JavaScript. She is a Girl Code Ambassador, Google Developer Expert and cat mom based in Northern Germany.

Facundo, Manuel and Josefine are Developer Relations Engineers at Storyblok, your new favorite headless CMS.

Facundo

From Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has more than 15 years of experience in software development. He loves engaging with the dev community, speaking at events and conferences, and creating and sharing content. He is one of the organizers of React Buenos Aires, the biggest React community in Argentina. He has been selected Prisma Ambassador, Auth0 Ambassador, and Cloudinary Media Developer Expert.

Manuel

Manuel is a front-end engineer who loves crafting beautiful and fast websites. International Relations graduate turned WordPress expert, he ultimately developed a passion for the Jamstack. His favorite technologies include Nuxt, Astro, Tailwind, and Storyblok.

Day 1: Covering The Base

Virtual doors open, registration, chat, and introductions.

9:00 AM – 9:50 AM
On the first day, we’ll introduce you to Headless. You’ll also be able to ask all your questions about Headless.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
We’ll continue with an introduction to Storyblok, and we’ll be setting up a Storyblok Space.

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Q&A with Facundo, Manuel and Josefine on the day’s material. Networking!

Day 2: Let’s Start Building!

8:45 AM PDT
Virtual doors open, registration, chat, and introductions.

9:00 AM – 9:40 AM
We’ll be creating Dynamic Menus in Storyblok and SvelteKit with Josefine.

9:50 - 10:30
We’ll learn about Partial Hydration in Storyblok, Astro and Vue with Manuel.

10:40 - 10:20
We’ll end the workshop with Effortless Internationalization using Storyblok and Remix with Facundo.
