This free session is a taster for Design Patterns For AI Interfaces — Vitaly’s full 5-session workshop. You’ll go from the ideas introduced here to building a complete toolkit of AI design patterns: daemons, style lenses, clustering, dynamic editing, temperature knobs and everything in between — with 100s of real-life examples from complex, real-world products.

Complex products don’t have to be complicated. As designers, we need to shape UX to maximise clarity and reduce confusion — especially when designing for legacy-ridden environments, B2B systems, enterprise software and complex domains.

But how do we do that in times of AI, when business expectations are high, users are sceptical and the bottleneck is decision-making, not delivery? This requires a healthy dose of context engineering, an AI-ready design system and a solid decision infrastructure — but also figuring out how to design for trust and confidence.

Making AI work well in complex products is much harder than one might think — and if not done right, people become inventive with all kinds of shortcuts to avoid AI features altogether. We’ll look at how to change that, and what it requires, with case studies from companies navigating exactly these challenges in messy, complex, real-world environments.

In this session, Vitaly Friedman, UX lead and senior advisor working with the European Parliament and AI companies around the world, will explore just that.

Who Is This For

This session is for product and interface designers, UX leads and front-end developers working on complex products — enterprise software, B2B platforms, legacy systems, or any environment where clarity is hard-won and decisions move slowly.
