    The SVG Animation Masterclass

    with Cassie Evans

    Full-day workshop • Monday, March 28, 2022.
SVG animation is a brilliant way to bring personality and character to an online experience. But in an industry focused on metrics, these whimsical details are often overlooked or undervalued.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to craft delightful animations using SVG, CSS and GSAP, and have a ton of fun while doing it.

Smart Interface Design Patterns, 2022 Edition

    with Vitaly Friedman

    Full-day workshop • Monday, March 28, 2022.
Are you ready for a design challenge? In this workshop, Vitaly Friedman, creative lead behind Smashing Magazine, will be taking a microscopic examination of common components and design patterns in modern interfaces — on desktop and on mobile.

We’ll study 100s of hand-picked examples and we’ll be designing interfaces together, starting from accordions, to mega-drop-downs, sliders, feature comparisons, car configurators — all the way to timelines and onboarding. And: We’ll be reviewing and providing feedback to each other’s work.

    Accessibility In Modern Applications

    with Marcy Sutton

    Full-day workshop • Thursday, March 31, 2022.

    New Front-End Adventures, 2022 Edition

    with Vitaly Friedman

    Full-day workshop • Thursday, March 31, 2022.
With HTTP/3, Service Workers, Jamstack, PWA, TypeScript, Web Assembly, AVIF, Variable Fonts, CSS Container Queries and clamp(), Client Hints and Resource Hints, CSS Subgrid and SVG2, we all are still trying to figure out just the right strategy for building websites and apps efficiently. We want to use all of these technologies and smart processes, but how can we use them efficiently, and how do we achieve it within a reasonable amount of time?

What’s the best way to compress text, optimize images, deliver and contain third-party scripts, conduct A/B testing, manage web fonts, build layouts, streamline delivery of CSS/JS, serve static assets and architect a flexible and maintainable design system? And where would we even start refactoring and re-organizing our legacy code base, or move to ES Modules in production, or use Web workers or Webassembly? Oh my, in the workshop, we’ll cover it all.
